HUNA

Huna is an ancient Hawaiian phylosophy of a happy life. For the needs of the contemporary Western world it has been described with five rules:

IKE – the world is what you think it is
KALA – there are no limits, everything is possible
MAKIA – energy flows where attention goes
MANAWA – the moment of power is now
ALOHA – love is to bring happiness
MANA – the whole power comes from within
PONO – effectiveness is a measure of truth

Fascinated by this simple and true message, I created a series of paintings that illustrate these rules.

I have personally experienced their effect through the Hawaiian lomi-lomi nui massage, at first as a receiver and later by learning to give it. I have fallen in love with the Hawaiian hula dance. The journey accross the ocean is still ahead of me.
